Vancouver International Airport offers a spectacular visual display of award-winning art and architecture. Offering visitors a unique journey of Land, Sea and Sky, each terminal building strategically represents the culture heritage, natural beauty and iconic experiences that embody British Columbia. The 50 foot tall GSky Green Wall represents the Coastal Mountains, which it faces to the North. The pattern in the wall was designed to reflect the mountains through groups of plants. The Green Wall is located immediately outside the doors of the International arrivals gate on the front wall of the YVR Canada Line Station. This wall was originally installed in 2009 and was the Pro Wall pre-planted system using coco-fiber as the growth medium. That system has since changed several times. The Versa Wall XT system was developed to retro-fit Pro Walls in colder climates; to offer better water management, and; to more easily replace plants and keep a wall full looking since one gallon potted plants are used instead of pre-planted panels.
