OVERVIEW

A prominent company, opening a new regional office in Plano, TX, contacted GSky to install a Green Wall as a centerpiece in the building’s cafeteria. Based off the company’s desire to place the wall indoors and have flexibility in changing the plant designs, GSky recommended utilizing their new Versa Wall System.

Completed in March 2011, the 38’ by 12’ installation is now GSky’s first Versa Wall installation.

The Versa wall is an ideal solution for the company because plant designs can be changed to reflect changing seasons, holidays and special events to keep the wall fresh and relevant for employees. Featuring close to 2,700 plants and flowers, the Versa wall will continually provide employees not only a talking piece, but an oasis of natural beauty, relaxation, and cleaner air over work breaks. It will provide as much clean oxygen indoors as 12 fourteen foot tall trees, a great benefit for the 400 employees the office plans to hire by 2013.

THE PROCESS This installation was relatively straight forward. The wall height never presented an issue at only 13'. The plants that were ordered came in slightly smaller than they were supposed to be and some had to be returned and replaced during the installation week. The smaller plants are not growing in quickly.

MAINTENANCE Maintenance is performed using a ladder on the wall and is done on a weekly basis. The performance of the plants has been exceptional with no losses thus far.
