OVERVIEW

The largest green wall in North America was unveiled October 9 at the world-renowned Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. The flagship of Longwood’s redesigned East Conservatory Plaza wing is the 4,072 sq ft green wall, displacing the title of North America’s largest green wall from the PNC Bank building in Pittsburgh by over 70 percent.

THE PROCESS
The Green Wall was installed over three installation sessions. The frames were installed first over a three week installation, the irrigation was then installed while the panels were being installed. The entire installation took a full six weeks to complete.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance is handled by the dedicated staff of horticulturists at Longwood Gardens. A scissor lift is used to maintain the plants on the upper areas of the wall.
