Harbour Centre Dental
OVERVIEW
The Harbour Centre Dental office was built out in late 2007 for a grand opening in the month of December before the holiday season. The wall is located immediately beside the glass door and large windows at the front of the reception so that all people walking outside at the bus stop can see the Green Wall. The plants were chosen to provide an even Green pattern across the wall with various leaf textures. No supplemental lighting was required due to the location of the wall directly beside the windows.

THE PROCESS
The installation of Harbour Centre Dental had few challenges. It's small size lent it well to a quick installation that lasted less than a day. A small step ladder was required to get up to the top of the wall.

MAINTENANCE
The primary challenge with this installation is that the basin below the Green Wall is lacking a drain and therefore, all the drain water from the wall builds up every few months and has to be bucketed out of the basin. This oversight was a mistake by the General Contractor on the site, and could not be remedied without great cost, so the time to bucket the basin out is made every 3 to 4 months, which takes around an hour to completely drain. In 2009, the water was shut off for an extended period of time, this was after the maintenance contract had not been renewed, and all the plants had to be replaced, so the Owner chose to replace them with Spider Plant
