OVERVIEW

The Golden Door Spa at the Waldorf Astoria in Park City, Utah captures the essence of the ancient honjin inns of Japan. Designed entirely to soothe the body and refresh the soul and begin a journey in transformation.

There are three Green Walls on this project. The highest is 18 feet high and follows a spiral staircase up to the third floor of the spa. The other two are on the opposite side of this wall with the second floor coming between and dividing them.

THE PROCESS
The plants were selected and design the Debbie Kotalic in coordination with AJC Architects. They were chosen for their lighting conditions of 150 foot candles of light. The frames and trim were installed in a separate visit and then the panels were delivered and installed after other dusty construction had completed. The entire installation took four days.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance is performed using a ladder on the taller wall from the staircase that is beside it. The smaller walls use a small step ladder to access the wall.
