GSKY SHOWING OFF NEW VERSA AND SMART WALLS AT PLANTSCAPE INDUSTRY EXPO IN LAS LEGAS
GSky President Chad Sichello to Give Presentation on Green Wall Industry
VANCOUVER, B.C., Aug. 26, 2011 – GSky Plant Systems, Inc., President Chad Sichello will be a guest speaker at the Plantscape Industry Exp Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at the South Point Casino Hotel in Las Vegas. Sichello will speak Aug. 31 at the PIE luncheon on GSky’s success of its popular green walls as well as the overall state of the growing green wall industry.
The PIE is the plantscape industry’s only show dedicated to the interiorscape industry.
“People want to know more about green walls because they’re seeing them in more places, such as hotel, restaurants and office buildings,” Sichello said. “At GSky we multiple solutions for them , from design to installation to maintenance to sustainability.”
The PIE also will be GSky’s first public unveiling of its new Smart Wall Cabinet System and customizable Versa Green Wall Tray System. GSky recently has installed the systems in such places as the Natural Resources Defense Council headquarters in Washington, D.C., Trader Vic’s restaurant in Portland, Ore., and a major office building in Plano, Texas.
The Smart Wall Cabinet System is designed for small to medium size offices and commercial spaces and is intended to be sold through arrangements with interiorscape companies. The cabinet is 7’4″ tall, 3’5″ wide, with a bottom depth of 16″. The cabinet takes 104 4 and 1/4″ standard nursery potted plants, and utilizes re-circulated water stored in a tank in the base with a pump and timer to regulate watering. The cabinets may be used singly, or side by side, or back to back as room dividers.
Developed in response to the increased demand for Green Walls in offices, GSky’s Versa Wall System is a “customizable, low maintenance, Green Wall system” ideal for those who want versatile plant designs in their indoor office environment.
The Versa Wall design specifically caters to the needs of the interior plant maintenance industry. Its design employs standard practices used by interior plant maintenance companies so that plants can be easily maintained, refreshed and replaced as required with very little effort. For example, the Versa Wall plants can be easily changed out for seasonal updates to the wall, such as putting in Poinsettas for the Winter holiday season, or herbs can be put in the wall and refreshed on a weekly basis for restaurants.
Furthermore, the watering system has been greatly simplified on the wall. Plants are irrigated by a trickle-down watering system that can be installed using a hidden water tank and pump so that the system does not require changes to interior plumbing lines.
